Back to Article List County Library Offers Beginner Photography Workshop Release Date: July 13, 2011 Cape May Court House – The Cape May County Library will offer “Introduction to Photography”, a four-week course, presented by Mike Hannisian at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning August 24th. The program will take place at Main Library located at 30 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.   The workshops are intended for people with little or no photographic experience. Classes will cover the following: Film and digital cameras in general, how they work, and for those who bring their cameras and user manuals, help with their cameras Film speed/ISO, shutter speed, aperture (f-stop), focus, and how these effect images; and the difference between RAW and JPEG images Composition and creating the image Cropping, transferring images to the computer or printer, preparing images for emailing, and emailing images   Mike Hannisian leads gentle but serious nature photo learning expeditions around Cape May Point for the Cape May Bird Observatory. Many of Hannisian’s images, as well as various articles, reviews and other writings are on his website: www.mike-hannisian.com. Hannisian has had 13 winning images in the last two Valley Land Fund’s biannual Wildlife Photography Contests and won Best of Contest in the 2008 South Texas Shootout Division.    Space is limited; therefore, registration and a valid library card are required to attend. Register by calling 463-6350 or online at www.cmclibrary.org.
