Cape May Court House – The Cape May County Library will offer “Introduction to Photography”, a four-week course, presented by Mike Hannisian at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning August 24th. The program will take place at Main Library located at 30 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
The workshops are intended for people with little or no photographic experience. Classes will cover the following:
- Film and digital cameras in general, how they work, and for those who bring their cameras and user manuals, help with their cameras
- Film speed/ISO, shutter speed, aperture (f-stop), focus, and how these effect images; and the difference between RAW and JPEG images
- Composition and creating the image
- Cropping, transferring images to the computer or printer, preparing images for emailing, and emailing images
Mike Hannisian leads gentle but serious nature photo learning expeditions around Cape May Point for the Cape May Bird Observatory. Hannisian has had 13 winning images in the last two Valley Land Fund’s biannual Wildlife Photography Contests and won Best of Contest in the 2008 South Texas Shootout Division.
