CAPE MAY COUNTY TOURISM DEPARTMENT WINS AWARD
Cape May County Freeholder Leonard Desiderio announced that the Cape May County Department of Tourism has won an Award of Excellence from the North American Travel Journalists Association. Cape May County received the award from NATJA’s 2003 Awards Competition in the category of Best Overall Press Kit.
Desiderio said, “the Board of Chosen Freeholders continues its commitment to the Tourism Industry in Cape May County and is pleased that NATJA recognizes our Department of Tourism as a top travel industry leader.”
Diane Wieland, Director of Tourism for Cape May County, was excited to learn of the award. Wieland said, “Just by being named a winner from the North American Travel Journalist Association, the county will gain tremendous exposure.” Wieland added, “this is an opportunity to reach the large membership of this organization of professional journalists to pitch story ideas about Cape May County and the many attractions that make us unique and interesting – just one story in a magazine or newspaper will have more impact than 10 display ads.”
The County will receive a certificate from NATJA as well as acknowledgment in NATJA’s print publication “The Wayfarer” and on their web site www.natja.org/awards.
