Release Date: July 13, 2011

Cape May Court House – Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel and the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders accepted $625 and more than one hundred items for the Cape May County Zoo donated by Amy Phillips, Miss Cape May County’s Outstanding Teen.   14 year-old Amy Phillips, of Seaville, presented the donations to be used for the animals at the Cape May County Zoo at the Freeholder meeting held on July 12, 2011.
Phillips was crowned “Miss Cape May County’s Outstanding Teen” on March 12, 2011 and will compete in the “Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen” pageant in January 2012.  During competition, Amy selected the platform “Zoo TLC” and collected items and monetary donations to enhance the quality of life for the animals that reside at the Cape May County Zoo.
Freeholder Director Beyel said, “Amy Phillips is a worthy representative for Cape May County and has shown great compassion and concern by choosing to help the animals at the Cape May County Zoo as her platform.  We thank her for her support and wish her much success as she represents Cape May County at the state competition.”
