The Office of the County Medical Examiner serves the Counties of Cape May and Cumberland .  The County Medical Examiner is responsible for the investigation and certification of deaths, performance of external examinations, autopsies and related laboratory procedures and maintenance of records in accordance with applicable State Law.

Currently, the State Medical Examiner's Office provides the Medical Examiner for the two Counties.
